The seemingly effortless, simple luxury of this magnificent penthouse in the heart of Ukrainian's capital, Kiev, was achieved after 2 years of intensive renovations. All the panelling, architraves, windows and skirting had to be custom-made. New floors were introduced of rich walnut, ebonised or limed oak, while French limestone was used for the grand entrance and bathrooms. This exceptional property needed an interior that would complement the client's superb collections of arts and objets d'art. Installing character and warmth, whilst being sympathetic to the qualities inherent in the architecture, is of great importance. Well selected furniture, objects and art help to hold an eye and inject a sense of the client's personality without detracting from the overall design.
